WHY THIS EXISTS
Hyperfocus Works is the parent company behind everything that starts with an idea, with creativity. It’s not a mission statement so much as a filing cabinet — one name over several things, so the things don’t have to explain themselves individually.
The name isn’t a metaphor we picked because it sounded nice. Hyperfocus is a real trait, the kind that can build a whole publishing imprint in a weekend (and then leave the garage half-finished for six years). This company is what it looks like when that trait actually accomplishes things.
Practically, it’s just easier this way. If one project runs into trouble, or one just doesn’t work out, it doesn’t have to drag the others down with it — they were never the same thing to begin with, just filed under the same name.
First thing to land: a publishing imprint.
We’re not going to stand here and tell you what’s coming next — mostly because we don’t fully know yet, and partly because that’s sort of the point of the name. What we can tell you is that the first thing is in progress. That’s already better than the average hyperfocus does.

This is the actual list — everything currently operating under the Hyperfocus Works name, no more and no less. Right now, that’s one imprint. From that imprint is something that’s… coming soon. What, you thought I’d spoil a solid surprise?

I’ve written a book. Not the “AI is changing everything” book. You’ve read that one already, in about four different posts and articles just this week.
This one’s about what happens to the making — when AI can produce something that looks finished in ten seconds — the actual value of building things yourself.
Why me? Why this slant? I found out I had ADHD at fifty. I spent a career leading tech teams by turning the way my brain works into how the work gets done. And somewhere in there, I got very interested in the difference between a thing that’s polished and a thing that’s yours.
More soon. For now: it’s real, it has a title, and there’s still plenty standing between this draft and your hands. I’m like that. <Oh, the suspense!>
